I was born and raised in Nova Scotia, and I have lived in the capital region of British Columbia since 2003. I am married and the father of three step-children. I graduated from Dalhousie University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts, Advance Major in Political Science, and obtained my law degree from the University of Victoria in 2005.
Since being called to the bar in 2007, I have worked primarily as a trial lawyer, mostly in Victoria and the Western Communities. I have proudly represented clients from all walks of life throughout my career, and along with my private practice I have assisted many clients through legal aid. I am one of several lawyers who regularly assist clients through the Legal Services Society Family Duty Counsel program.
I am an avid outdoorsman, and I remain a student of politics and history. I am a firm believer in the importance of individual liberty and civil rights.
